Around 1,250 students gathered at the Belambras facility in Seignosse on Saturday to choose Germany's best students in surfing. The adh open surfing 2018 contest officially kicked off on Sunday. A total of 187 students were registered to prove their surfing talent in Seignosse. As many as 72 of the 133 participants in the open men's class competed in 12 heats on the north podium. For the Open Women's class, all 37 students were able to jump into the water. Directly after the contest, the students were offered another program item with a surf flea market. In the evenings, we were all able to dance the night away to local live bands and DJs before the competition continued early in the morning.
Traditionally, the placings were announced at the Night on the Champs, which took place on Thursday. Only then will the starters know how they performed. This officially marked the end of the adh-open 2018 contest and the students returned home on Saturday, where university life awaited them after the Whitsun break. Until then, visitors to Seignosse were able to try out activities such as spikeball and waterslide and celebrate the winners in style.
