Mission Statement

Research is a collective endeavor. Its power unfolds where knowledge is shared, reviewed, and further developed.

The Research Data Center Motor Performance promotes openness, transparency, and collaboration in science. As the first research data center for motor performance data in sports science in the German-speaking world, we build on the experience of the DFG-funded project MO|RE data and are developing a sustainable infrastructure for the future of research. Our mission is to make scientific data findable, accessible, understandable, and reusable in the long term. Open data accelerates research, ensures quality, strengthens reproducibility, and enables new perspectives.

We are committed to the principles of open science and good scientific practice in sports science. Our research data center supports researchers with comprehensive research data management to ensure the quality and reproducibility of their work. By providing open data, we encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration and support the scientific community.

We aim to create a culture in which datasets are seen as valuable contributions. Researchers should be motivated to share their data, knowing that shared data can lead to new ideas. Through innovative approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration, we strive to gain new insights and lay the groundwork for evidence-based practice in sports science.

We invite everyone to join us on this path: researchers who want to securely preserve and make their data visible; institutions that embrace openness; and a public that stands to benefit from transparent and accessible science. Because open research has the potential to achieve more than we might imagine today.
