The Central Student Advisory Service at KIT is your first point of contact for all kinds of questions and challenges relating to your studies. We offer confidential, neutral and open-ended advice in a protected atmosphere, regardless of what is bothering you during your studies.

Social Department of the General Student Committee
The Social Department of the General Students' Committee advises you on topics relating to student finance, financial difficulties, insurance, work, finding accommodation and all other things that complicate your life. The Social Department is in close contact with other counseling and support services and is often a good first point of contact for students. The Social Department is also responsible for allocating free tables. Together with the colleagues from the Equal Opportunities and International Affairs departments, we deal with inclusion, studying with children, anti-discrimination, and the representation and integration of international students.

Emergency Aid from the General Student Committee
The General Student Committee's emergency aid allocation committee processes student applications for financial support in emergency situations in accordance with the emergency aid allocation regulations.

The Learning Advice Service at the House of Competence
The learning advice service is the first point of contact for questions relating to student learning and working. The learning advisors are students themselves (peer-to-peer counseling) and have been extensively trained by the LernLABOR at the House of Competence.

Perspective Counseling from the House of Competence
The Perspectives Lab at the House of Competence offers students advice and coaching during personal orientation phases or as part of their own personal development. The aim is to open up new perspectives for students in individual discussions or in exchange with experts and fellow students and to show them other ways of doing things.

Seat Finder and Seat Reservation at KIT Library
Are you looking for a place to study? The KIT Library Seatfinder provides you with an overview of available study places in the KIT Library South, in the KIT Library North, in specialist libraries and in facilities on the South Campus as well as in other libraries and facilities in Karlsruhe. With the seat reservation, the KIT library offers the option of a guaranteed seat in the library during the booking period.

Map of the Center for Media Learning
The Map of the Center for Media Learning provides the most important contact points for your studies at KIT at a glance. You can use it to get an overview of your Bachelor's degree course and find the relevant institutions. Of course, the line plan represents a simplified and idealized course of study, the stations can of course be relevant several times and can be selected individually.

Project BESSEr@KIT
Why is student participation so important, both for KIT and for students and their well-being? What added value does participation have? The BESSEr∂KIT project provides information on student involvement. Students gain insights into the processes of the committees and bodies at KIT and learn how and where they can become active and thereby also expand their skills and create a better KIT together.

Booklet "On Courage to Act: Challenges for Everyday Life"
The challenge in a world seemingly without alternatives and prone to crises is to step out of the usual patterns of thought and behavior. Why not do it differently? If you want to create a future that is open-ended, rich in alternatives and attractive for future generations, you can start on a small scale. The booklet " On Courage to Act: Challenges for Everyday Life” brings together numerous transfer exercises from the House of Competence. The exercises do not provide tools for self-optimization, but rather offers for self-reflection and self-determination. They are a kind of challenge: an encouragement to try things out - in the midst of everyday life.

Booklet "Just Do It Differently: Perspectives for Everyday Life"
The booklet, titled “Just Do It Differently” is a collection of texts and exercises from the House of Competence (HoC) program.
It offers opportunities for reflection that help break free from a fixation on problems and conflicts – in order not to resign in the face of repeated crises, but instead to grow, or even to surpass oneself. Or simply to find the right track in the first place.

KIT Suggestion Box for all KIT Members
Do you have a concern and don't know where to turn? Then use the quality management department's suggestion box. Ms. Legrum-Khaled and her team will forward suggestions and complaints that do not relate to quality management in teaching and learning to the relevant departments. Roll Containers and Lockers at KIT Library
Roll containers can be borrowed from the KIT library for two weeks and are used to store documents you have brought with you or books you have borrowed.
The lockers are available to you during your stay in the KIT library. You will need a library card to use a locker.

Equipment Lending and 3D Printing at KIT Library
The Media Center offers a wide range of equipment for KIT students to borrow. The equipment supports you with audio and video productions, the further processing of media or presentations.
The Media Center also has a 3D printer that can be used to create objects based on a 3D model you bring with you. This service is available to KIT students for a fee.
