Education

The continuous integration of student health topics into teaching and student-led research—as one of KIT’s core responsibilities—is of great importance to the Student Health Lab.

In the Bachelor's degree program in Sports Science with a minor in Fitness and Health Management, as well as in the Master's program in Sports Science with a focus on Physical Activity and Health, students work on research questions as part of their theses, research projects, seminars, or project work at the Institute of Sports and Sports Science.

Student participation in health promotion and health research through regular coursework offers a low-threshold opportunity for engaging in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion measures—and thereby contributing to the further development of the Student Health Lab.

The participation potential within teaching and student research increases whenever student researchers themselves apply participatory methods (e.g., focus groups, interviews) in the context of their academic work. In doing so, they create opportunities for other students to be heard, involved, and empowered to help shape health-related processes.
