On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, KIT University Sports officially kicked off the summer semester with the HSP Summer Kickoff 2025 at Sparda-Sportpark. Despite the changeable weather and the unfavorable postponement of the course booking start, the dedicated departments were not discouraged: With creative hands-on activities, sporting demonstrations and informative stands, they presented the full variety of university sports on offer.

The departments of lacrosse, rugby, footvolley, American football, rowing, forró, judo, roundnet, mountain biking, sailing, field hockey, fistball, ultimate frisbee, racing bike, baseball, underwater rugby, headis, horse riding, acrobatics/juggling & aerial acrobatics, freestyle frisbee and unicycle were all there. Each group took the opportunity to present their sports with passion and enthusiasm and make contacts, despite the smaller number of visitors.

The international buddy program, the Student Health Lab and the walk-in health center also supported the event with interactive booths. The walk-in organized a dips challenge, where great performances were achieved by the ladies (10 repetitions) and men (37 repetitions).

Other highlights of the day were the popular sports equipment flea market and the HSP team's waffle stall, which raised over €150 for the Kinder und Jugend Arche Karlsruhe e.V. children's and youth charity.

The organization team would like to thank all departments, helpers and visitors for their commitment and is already looking forward to further joint sporting highlights in the summer semester!
