On May 3, 2024, a yoga day with two lectures and a practical session "Yoga Nidra" will take place at the Institute of Sport and Sports Science from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All interested KIT students and employees are cordially invited to attend! On 03.04.2024, the intermediate round of the DHM Table Tennis took place in Göttingen, where our team took a strong second place. The highly motivated team was able to compensate for short-term absences due to illness and deservedly qualified for the final round in Hamburg.

On April 9, 2024, KIT University Sports opened its doors for the sixth HSP Kickoff. The event attracted many people who wanted to find out about the various sports options. With a wide selection of interactive hands-on activities, informative stands and culinary offerings, the 2024 summer semester was ushered in. As of today, Tuesday | 09.04.2024, the HSP courses for the summer semester 2024 can be viewed online! The booking of the courses will be activated tomorrow, Wednesday | 10.04.2024! In order to introduce the international community at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to hiking, Mareike Schroeter launched the pilot project "Hiking for international students" together with the University Sports Department and the International Buddy Program. A complete success! The new project was launched this winter semester and will enter the next round next summer. You can find impressions of the hikes in the report.

From Wednesday, 03.04.2024, 09.00 a.m. the basic fee is activated for booking! Before booking a university sports course, the semester base fee must be booked, otherwise no further booking is possible! The WG Karlsruhe achieved a great 2nd place in the competition ranking published for 2023 and was able to significantly improve on last year's ranking (5th place). At national level, the team achieved top 3 placings in all sub-rankings. The WG Karlsruhe was also at the forefront at international level, where the WG Karlsruhe rowing team excelled. The summer edition of the HSP Kickoff will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the Sparda Sportpark, on the outdoor facilities of the IfSS. This semester for the first time with a small sports equipment flea market and the coffee break, as well as traditionally with various hands-on activities of the HSP departments, a fitness challenge of the walk-in and waffles for the benefit of a donation project. The aim of the "Fitness Check" project is to provide first-semester students at KIT with information about their individual fitness and health status, to raise their awareness of their health and fitness, and to inform them about the wide range of exercise and health activities offered by the IfSS and university sports.

Is your head spinning from all that studying or are you bored in your free time? Then the university sports vacation courses are for you! The courses run during the lecture-free period from 19.02.2024 to 05.04.2024. Booking start for the vacation courses is Monday, 05.02. from 10.00 am. Registration is already open.

What does the everyday life of a professional athlete look like? How did the triathlon develop and why are humans the creatures with the greatest endurance? All these questions were answered by 2007 triathlon world champion and Olympian Daniel Unger in his lecture on 27.01.2024 at the Institute of Sport and Sports Science.

To mark World Environmental Education Day on January 26, we would like to introduce you to the GRIP project, which is made up of the Naturefriends Youth Germany and the adh. GRIP is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV). You can find all information in the link.

On 21.01.2024, the DHM athletics (indoor) took place in Sindelfingen with a large contingent of athletes from WG Karlsruhe. At the first DHM of the year, the athletes were able to achieve great performances in various disciplines, including some personal bests. Former world-class triathlete Daniel Unger will be coming to Karlsruhe on 27.01.2024 at 18.00 (Hörsaal Sport)! With numerous World Cup victories and the World Championship title under his belt, he now works as a national coach at the Olympic training center in Saarbrücken and will give a multi-layered insight into the world of triathlon. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend!

Behind each door of the Advent calendar is an exercise to improve one of the motor skills of strength, coordination, flexibility or endurance. With this in mind, all those responsible at IfSS and University Sports at KIT wish you a wonderful and reflective Christmas season with an Advent calendar of a different kind.

As part of the adh General Assembly and the 75th anniversary of the adh, KIT University Sports under the direction of Dr. Dietmar Blicker was awarded the title "University of the Year 2023". The team was honored on the Munich TUM campus in the Olympic Park as a representative of the outstanding work of the entire KIT University Sports.
