
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, it’s that time again: The adh Open Rugby tournament enters its next round in Karlsruhe. Karlsruhe was a successful host last time, and we’d like to build on that success. At least six men’s and four women’s teams from a total of six German cities will be participating.

The WG Karlsruhe handball team had an impressive weekend at the 2026 German University Championships. After an early setback, the team fought its way to the final, secured the title of German university runner-up, and at the same time earned a spot in the 2027 European Championships.

On May 14 and 15, eight runners from the Karlsruhe University Sports Association traveled to Paderborn for the German Collegiate Orienteering Championships. The course was organized in collaboration with TuS Lübbecke and featured two days of exciting competitions as well as a successful supporting program.

The German University Championships (DHM) in badminton took place in Essen from May 14 to 17. The event was hosted by the University of Duisburg-Essen, which first hosted the Final Four of the team competition and then the individual events. The WG Karlsruhe, or KIT, was also represented by a six-member delegation.

On the weekend of April 25–26, 2026, the Karlsruhe University hockey team participated in the DHM in Cologne. The tournament featured mixed teams from various universities. Although we missed the podium, we were very satisfied with our strong overall performance. The tournament was marked by a fair and spirited atmosphere and once again highlighted the quality of college hockey in Germany.

On February 14, the German Collegiate Track and Field Championships took place at the Hartwig-Gauder-Halle in Erfurt. Six athletes from KIT and one athlete from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences competed together as a joint team, namely the Karlsruhe University Sports Association.

This year’s adh-Trophy Sailing competition was organized by Hochschulsport Hamburg on the Outer Alster. On August 15, ten teams from all over Germany arrived—including us from KIT, with two boats: Jan Erik Heinrich & Johannes Fischer, and Moritz Clus & Jasmin Haupt. Our sailors’ results are quite impressive.

The delegation from Karlsruhe was represented by a total of 25 judokas and competed with great enthusiasm on both days of the competition.
