From Mainz to Salerno: The WG Karlsruhe 3x3 basketball team is looking forward to the 2026 European Games in Italy

The 2026 European Universities Games will take place in Salerno, Italy, from July 18 to August 1, 2026. More than 4,500 athletes from around 400 universities are expected to compete in 13 different sports at this, Europe’s largest student sports event.

DHM Golf 2026: Gold and Silver for the Karlsruhe Residence Hall

The DHM golf tournament took place from July 3 to 5, 2026. The event was organized by the University of Passau’s Sports Center in cooperation with the Quellness Golf Resort Bad Griesbach. The participating universities arrived in Passau as early as Friday. WG Karlsruhe was represented by two teams and a total of seven players.

Runner-up at the 3x3 DHM in Mainz

On the first weekend in July, the DHM 3x3 basketball tournament took place in Mainz. KIT was represented by a team consisting of two players from the IO College Wizards and two players from the PSK Lions (2025–26 season). With the same lineup, the team will also compete in the European Championships in Salerno, Italy, at the end of July.

Great atmosphere at the 2026 adh Open Rugby tournament in Karlsruhe

On July 4, 2026, the ADH-open Rugby tournament took place in Karlsruhe, providing both players and spectators with an exciting day of rugby. A total of 19 games were played on two fields. Six men’s teams and four women’s teams from a total of six cities participated in the competition, competing for the tournament title in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

Registration for the Fall 2026 Kitesurfing Camp Is Now Open

Following last year’s success, we’re excited to travel to the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands again this fall. In Workum and the surrounding area, we’ll find plenty of beginner-friendly spots as well as a dedicated kitesurfing school. This is the perfect opportunity to wrap up the summer and dive into a new sport! All the details are in the event announcement.

Preview of the 2026 adh-Open Rugby Tournament in Karlsruhe

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, it’s that time again: The adh Open Rugby tournament enters its next round in Karlsruhe. Karlsruhe was a successful host last time, and we’d like to build on that success. At least six men’s and four women’s teams from a total of six German cities will be participating.

Lacrosse Team Celebrates a Successful adh Open Weekend in Leipzig

This year’s adh Open lacrosse tournament took place in Leipzig on June 27 and 28, 2026. With temperatures reaching a record-breaking 40°C at times, the Karlsruhe women’s team (in a last-minute joint team with Dresden) and men’s team (in a joint team with Konstanz) each competed in six games per team for the title of best college lacrosse team.

2nd Place for the WG Karlsruhe Handball Team at the DHM in Oldenburg

The WG Karlsruhe handball team had an impressive weekend at the 2026 German Collegiate Championships. After an early setback, the team fought its way to the final, secured the title of German collegiate runner-up, and at the same time earned a spot in the 2027 European Championships.

Strong Performances at the 2026 DHM Swimming Championships in Hanover

From May 29 to 31, 2026, the German Collegiate Swimming Championships were held at the Stadionbad in Hanover. The swimming team from the Karlsruhe University Sports Association competed with a large and strong delegation and successfully held its own against a highly competitive field of approximately 80 colleges.

Successes Despite the Rain at the 2026 DHM Tennis Tournament in Tübingen

From May 13 to May 16, 2026, two players from the Karlsruhe Student Residence competed in the DHM Tennis tournament in Tübingen. Milan Konrad advanced to the quarterfinals in the men’s singles, while Amelie Zabler was unfortunately eliminated in the first round of the women’s singles. In the mixed doubles, however, the pair reached the semifinals.

Runners from Karlsruhe at the 2026 DHM Orienteering Championships in Paderborn

On May 14 and 15, eight runners from the Karlsruhe University Sports Association traveled to Paderborn for the German Collegiate Orienteering Championships. The course was organized in collaboration with TuS Lübbecke and featured two days of exciting competitions as well as a successful supporting program.

Recap of the 2026 DHM Roundnet Tournament in Essen

Over the Pentecost weekend, May 14–17, 2026, the Roundnet team headed to the DHM at the University of Essen/Duisburg. Despite the changeable weather, the court conditions were excellent, and the organizers ensured that the tournament was a complete success. We fielded a total of three teams: two in the Open division and one in the Mixed division.

WG Karlsruhe at the Final Four of the 2026 DHM Badminton Tournament in Essen

The German University Championships (DHM) in badminton took place in Essen from May 14 to 17. The event was hosted by the University of Duisburg-Essen, which first hosted the Final Four of the team competition and then the individual events. The WG Karlsruhe, or KIT, was also represented by a six-member delegation.

4th place at the 2026 DHM Field Hockey Tournament in Cologne

On the weekend of April 25–26, 2026, the Karlsruhe University hockey team participated in the DHM in Cologne. The tournament featured mixed teams from various universities. Although we missed the podium, we were very satisfied with our strong overall performance. The tournament was marked by a fair and spirited atmosphere and once again highlighted the quality of college hockey in Germany.

First and Second Place at the DHM Track and Field Championships in Erfurt

On February 14, the German Collegiate Track and Field Championships took place at the Hartwig-Gauder-Halle in Erfurt. Six athletes from KIT and one athlete from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences competed together as a joint team, namely the Karlsruhe University Sports Association.

adh Sailing Trophy 2025: KIT Teams Succeed in Hamburg

This year’s adh-Trophy Sailing competition was organized by Hochschulsport Hamburg on the Outer Alster. On August 15, ten teams from all over Germany arrived—including us from KIT, with two boats: Jan Erik Heinrich & Johannes Fischer, and Moritz Clus & Jasmin Haupt. Our sailors’ results are quite impressive.

2025 DHM Judo: Individual Bronze and Victory in the Newcomers Cup for a Judoka from Karlsruhe

On December 6 and 7, 2025, the German Collegiate Judo Championships took place in Passau. Athletes from all over Germany traveled to the city to compete at the national level. The delegation from Karlsruhe was represented by a total of 25 judokas and competed with great enthusiasm on both days of the competition.
