The German University Championships (DHM) took place in Fulda on June 14 and 15. 17 teams took part. Seven players per team faced each other on the field in a real-mixed format.

The matches were played on the grass pitches next to the stadium. These had the special feature that from time to time airplanes flew low over the pitch to land on the adjacent runway. In the group phase, the "Unibärchen Karlsruhe" won against the teams from Dresden, Leipzig and Fulda with 3 victories in bright sunshine, and met WG Würzburg in the round of 16.

With a 13:0 victory, Karlsruhe qualified for the quarter-finals on Sunday morning. In the quarter-finals, WG Frankfurt initially put up a strong fight, but towards the end Karlsruhe was able to prevail with a 6:11 win. In the semi-final, they were unfortunately defeated by the eventual tournament winners from Munich 11:5. In the match for third place, they then faced the team from Heidelberg. The game was very close, but Karlsruhe won the game and 3rd place in the end. The team impressed with its team spirit and high spirits.

Overall, it was a strong performance, which we would like to build on next year and continue to improve. The shared spirit victory this year went to WG Freiburg and WG Nürnberg-Erlangen. Many thanks to the organizers for a great tournament.
