On May 24 and 25, 2025, Karlsruhe became the center of student archery: The German University Championships (DHM) in archery took place at the BSC Karlsruhe facility in KA-Hagsfeld. Organized by the University Sports Department of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the event brought together students from all over Germany who competed against each other in various archery classes. Despite cool temperatures, wind and light drizzle on the final day, the athletes put in impressive performances. The competitions were held in a shoot-out format, in which direct duels decided who would progress.
In the men's recurve qualification round, Michael Icking from the University of Marburg achieved the best result with 636 rings. He was closely followed by Max Moulliet (KIT) with 627 rings and Alexander Dreichner (University of Frankfurt am Main) with 624 rings.
In the women's recurve archery competition, well-known names from the national team and the junior squad of the German Shooting Association came out on top and demonstrated their skills in the run-up to the FISU World University Games.
The DHM Archery 2025 not only served to determine the German university champions, but also as preparation for the FISU World University Games, which will take place on the Rhine and Ruhr in July. Many of the participating athletes used the championship to compete at an international level and gain experience. The full results of the DHM Archery 2025 can be viewed in the official results list.
The German University Archery Championship 2025 in Karlsruhe was a complete success and once again demonstrated the high level and enthusiasm for archery among German students. Special thanks go to the organizing club BSC Karlsruhe for the successful event and the smooth running.
