  • Datum: 02.06.2025
  • The German University Championship (DHM) in 3x3 basketball took place in Marburg on May 24 and 25. Planned as an outdoor tournament, the event had to be moved indoors from midday on Saturday due to rain. Marcel Davis, Vincent Hennen, Stefan Ilzhöfer and Nils Maisel competed for KIT. For Davis and Maisel, it was their last tournament in a KIT jersey and a very special farewell.

The field of participants comprised 14 teams. After six group matches, the KIT team qualified for the semi-finals on Sunday with a decisive victory against the host university of Marburg. There they prevailed with aplomb and met the team from the University of Göttingen again in the final, against whom they had lost in the preliminary round. In a thrilling final, the team got revenge - with a 21:18 victory, the KIT secured the title of the German University Championship in 3x3. Nils Maisel scored the final point with the game-winner - his last throw at a DHM.

The success was the result of a cohesive team performance. Every player made a decisive contribution to the title, both on a sporting and personal level. In addition to the strong performance on the court, the team also impressed with its team spirit and good mood during the social program. With the victory, the KIT team qualifies for the European University Championships 2026 in Salerno (Italy).
