On Wednesday, 07.05.2025, the preliminary round of the DHM in men's soccer took place at the KIT Sparda Sportpark. Four teams were invited to compete against each other in "everyone against everyone" mode. The teams from WG Mainz, WG Tübingen, WG Darmstadt and WG Karlsruhe took part in the tournament.

After exciting games, the decisive match for the tournament victory came down to a duel between WG Karlsruhe and WG Tübingen. In a fiercely contested encounter, the Tübingen team finally prevailed 1:0 thanks to a converted penalty in the final minutes and thus qualified for the final round.
