Successful participation of Karlsruhe students in the adh-Open surfing competition

  • Datum: 25.06.2025
  • The adh-Open Surfing 2025 offered the best conditions for exciting competitions, a good atmosphere and top sporting performances. The team from Karlsruhe was also represented by several motivated surfers - and with great success!

In the longboard competition, debutants Annelie Speckmaier and Leonie Naubereit achieved an impressive performance straight away: both reached the semi-finals in their first participation, placing among the top eight participants. Julius Koppenhöfer and Stefan Scheuble also made it into the top 8 in the longboard competition.

Dominik Hansler and David Scheufele were beaten in the first round of the shortboard competition. Nevertheless, they were clearly delighted with their participation and the experience they had gained - the two showed real ambition and enthusiasm for the sport.

Damian Gentner impressed in the shortboard with consistent performances and made it through to round 3. Stefan Scheuble - also competing in the shortboard - once again showed his skills and fought his way through to the quarter-finals, where he was only narrowly beaten.

A special highlight was the legendary Aloha Cup, which is known for creative performances and lots of fun. Team Karlsruhe surfed their way through to the semi-finals, where they were beaten by a strong and imaginative team.

Overall, the ADH Open was a complete success for the Karlsruhe team, which was very present in terms of both sport and atmosphere. For many, it was their last participation, so it was all the better that they were able to finish with such positive experiences. Now we can only hope that new talents will grow up at KIT to represent Karlsruhe worthily at the ADH Open in the future.

A big thank you goes to the Hochschulsport Karlsruhe for their support and organization!
