
Following last year’s success, we’re excited to travel to the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands again this fall. In Workum and the surrounding area, we’ll find plenty of beginner-friendly spots as well as a dedicated kitesurfing school. The DHM Ultimate Frisbee tournament took place on June 27 and 28. A total of 15 teams competed for the title in Heidelberg. The tournament was played in the real-mixed format, in which seven players from each team faced off for each point. With a commanding performance, the team won the final 10–3, securing the title. With this victory, Karlsruhe became the German collegiate champion in Ultimate Frisbee for the eighth time, making it the sole record holder.

For the “Advanced Rowing” department, this year’s DHM, held July 10–12, 2026, in Krefeld on Lake Elfrath, was a major milestone. We competed with the largest number of HSP participants in years and achieved excellent results!

On June 20, we set out early: out on the water at 5:00 a.m., joining a large fleet of other boats on the Rhine. We rotated the helmsman or helmswoman every 30 minutes, which proved to be a sensible schedule. The first serious challenge wasn’t long in coming: Shortly after our first short break, a wave from a cargo ship hit us with full force, forcing us to bail and pump like crazy afterward. The Rhine makes it clear right from the start who’s really in charge here.

At the DHM sport climbing competition on June 6, 2026, in Dresden, the Karlsruhe University Sports Association team was well represented with a group of 15 participants. It had been several years since the last DHM sport climbing competition, which made the competition team all the more motivated to participate in a sport climbing competition once again.

The 2026 European Universities Games will take place in Salerno, Italy, from July 18 to August 1, 2026. More than 4,500 athletes from around 400 universities are expected to compete in 13 different sports at this, Europe’s largest student sports event.

The DHM golf tournament took place from July 3 to 5, 2026. The event was organized by the University of Passau’s Sports Center in cooperation with the Quellness Golf Resort Bad Griesbach. The participating universities arrived in Passau as early as Friday. WG Karlsruhe was represented by two teams and a total of seven players.

On July 4, 2026, the ADH-open Rugby tournament took place in Karlsruhe, providing both players and spectators with an exciting day of rugby. A total of 19 games were played on two fields. Six men’s teams and four women’s teams from a total of six cities participated in the competition, competing for the tournament title in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
