For the two KIT athletes, the long journey to Duisburg for the DHM Leichtathletik was well worth it. Both were delighted with great performances, podium finishes and even a German university championship title.
Florian Händle achieved his personal best in the first discus throw (50.24m) and led from the start. Although the second athlete was able to close the gap in the subsequent throws, he was unable to catch up with Florian in the end, who was rewarded with the German university championship title. In his second discipline, the javelin throw, which Florian has only been training again since this season, he also came close to his personal best and finished fifth with 62.03m.
Vanessa Kobialka was also very satisfied and rewarded herself with 3rd place in the discus (48.35m) after an exciting competition. Thanks to this great result, Vanessa was very motivated for her second discipline, the shot put, and was delighted to finish in 2nd place with 13.51m.
