The fourth edition of the HSP Kickoff was once again a complete success! A big thank you to the many department heads, trainers and visitors who make the kickoff unique every semester and fill it with life.

On 18.04.2023, University Sports opened the doors of the Sportpark to all interested parties to ring in the summer semester. Around 30 departments were on site, with interactive hands-on activities and informative stands. More than ever before.

Thanks to the departments of American football, rugby, water polo, tap dancing, fistball, ultimate frisbee, judo, field hockey, unicycle, sailing, lacrosse, acrobatics/juggling, baseball, golf, self-defense, rowing, headis, underwater rugby, kitesurfing, footvolley, forró and sports shooting, which presented the colorful variety of university sports.

In addition to the ActivityKit, the Uniliga, the KIT Buddy Program and the Erasmus Students Network Karlsruhe, the walk-in health center was once again at the start with a plank challenge, where there were great prizes to be won. Very strong performances were achieved by the women with around 12 minutes and by the men with around 15 minutes.

The event was rounded off with university sports waffles on a donation basis as a culinary highlight, whereby €100 in donations were collected, which were donated to the Kinder und Jugend Arche Karlsruhe e.V. (Children and Youth Ark Karlsruhe).

We are already looking forward to the next edition, wish everyone a good start to the semester and hope to see you again this semester in one of the many sports courses!
