On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the grounds of the Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS) once again became the stage for KIT's sporting summer highlight: the Sport Summer Festival. Once again this year, the festival attracted over 1,000 visitors - students, employees and sports enthusiasts celebrated together in a good atmosphere with sporting challenges and culinary highlights.

Numerous hands-on activities and tournaments kept everyone moving and enthusiastic. Participants took part in fair and exciting competitions in basketball 3x3, beach volleyball, flag football, soccer (11-a-side shooting), roundnet, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball and pickleball. Visitors were also able to try their hand at other sports such as lacrosse, headis, fencing, freestyle frisbee, hip-hop, acrobatics, trampoline and more.

There was also a big crowd at the popular soccer darts, where not only was accuracy required, but donations were also collected: The guests' participation once again raised a pleasing amount for the Sportlerherz campaign.

The physical well-being was also well catered for: Maultaschenburgers, grilled food, potato spirals, crêpes, waffles, coffee from the coffee roasting company Röstwerk from Waldbronn and drinks such as Aperol Spritz at the bar of the sports staff and at the student council bar left nothing to be desired. The atmosphere in the Sparda Sportpark was great and the partying and dancing continued late into the evening.

Many thanks also go to the IfSS janitor team, the Group 49 security team and the ASB paramedics, who ensured that everything ran smoothly and that all guests were safe.

The Sports Summer Festival 2025 was once again a complete success - with lots of passion, movement and community spirit. See you in summer 2026!
