It’s just a few days away: On Thursday, June 25, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m., the 2026 Summer Sports Festival will take place at the sports facilities of the Institute for Sport and Sports Science (IfSS). Here you can find out everything about the festival, this year’s highlight, and what else is in store! 

As in previous years, sports will be at the heart of our festival. Whether you’re competing in tournaments, trying out different activity stations, or just having fun without any pressure—there’s something for everyone here.

This year, you can compete in the following tournaments to become the Summer Festival champions: Beach volleyball, streetball, pickleball, Ultimate Frisbee, and flag football. Registration this year is handled through our booking system. There, a team captain will register on behalf of your team, enter your team name, and pay the entry fee. You’ll find the relevant tournament information in the respective tournament descriptions in the booking system.

Don’t have a team yet? No problem! The Ultimate Frisbee tournament is played in HAT mode, which means that participants register individually, and the tournament organizers will form the teams based on the participants’ self-assessments!

Similar to our kickoff courses at the start of the semester, several departments would like to invite you to try out and learn about their sports. This year, lacrosse, trampoline, and fencing will be featured. Additionally, a small challenge for anyone interested will take place at the calisthenics area. Also, blut.ev will be there with an information and blood-typing campaign; you can shoot at a soccer darts board to support the Sportlerherz donation project or help fund a sports field project in Hosiana.

If you’re active, you’ll need to stay hydrated and will get hungry. That’s why various university sports departments, as well as students and staff from the IfSS, will be providing a wide variety of food and drink options.

Starting at 9:45 p.m., we’d love to join you in watching the German national soccer team’s final group stage match against Ecuador at the World Cup on a big screen in the outdoor hall.

Tickets for this year’s Summer Sports Festival are available in advance for €5 or for €7 at the box office, while supplies last.&So hurry and grab your tickets for this sporting highlight on the KIT campus!
