Just in time for the start of the 2026 summer term, KIT University Sports is providing you with all the relevant information on booking courses and all the important updates regarding sports offerings at KIT.
Course Registration
As of April 1, 2026, you can already register for the HSP Sportpass. As usual, this is a prerequisite for all sports course bookings. These courses are listed in our booking portal (app) and are available for booking starting today, April 7, 2026, at 10 a.m.. As in the last semester, our new booking system enables a fairer allocation of spots for selected courses with no prerequisites (general and beginner courses) through admission by lottery. Participants can select up to three courses and prioritize them: 1 = high priority; 2 = medium priority; 3 = low priority. There is no admission by lottery for advanced and competitive courses.
The registration process with the course spot lottery works as follows:
April 7, 2026, 10:00 a.m.: Start of the registration phase for course spots
April 14, 2026, 11:59 p.m.: End of the registration period for course spots
The course spot lottery will take place in two rounds:
- Round 1: t = April 15, 2026, 10:00 a.m. through April 16, 2026, 9:59 a.m.
- Round 2: t = April 16, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to April 17, 2026, 9:59 a.m.
Deadline for accepting course spots: 23 hours per available spot
After the second round of the lottery ends, any remaining spots can be booked freely.
PlayNow
In the 2026 summer term, court rentals for the beach volleyball courts at Sparda Sportpark will be added to the existing PlayNow offerings. In addition, starting April 20, 2026, the outdoor tennis courts operated by University Sports will be available for booking again.
Walk-in and fitness classes
The 2026 summer term will also bring extensive changes to the walk-in Health Center: All services offered by the walk-in Health Center can now be booked via the University Sports booking portal (app). As part of this change, the walk-in membership will be offered as a monthly subscription that can be canceled at any time. Additional services such as health diagnostics, bioelectrical impedance analysis, and training plan reviews will be available through the booking portal (app).
In addition, the fitness classes will be restructured: Through the Sports Schedule in the booking portal (app), you can book individual sessions in the Full Body Workouts or specific fitness classes. You also have the option to use the Fitness Pass | Unlimited (found under Subscriptions) to participate in an unlimited number of fitness classes within the booked month.
If you have any questions, you can find information in the FAQ section of University Sports or contact hochschulsport@ifss.kit.edu directly. We’d also like to cordially invite you to the University Sports Summer Kickoff on April 14, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Sparda Sportpark (IfSS)—the University Sports team will be there in person to answer any questions you may have.
