KIT Futsalers as guests in Rome for the EVROROMA MMXIII

From 13.11 to 17.11 the legendary tournament Euroroma took place in Rome. There were competitions from 12 different sports, where 1700 students from 58 universities from four continents competed.

KIT also sent athletes to the starting line. Nine soccer players from the fan city played for the coveted crown in futsal. Already one day before the tournament started, the boys arrived to adapt to the climatic conditions. This succeeded particularly well with refreshing drinks from various sponsors. The next day, the team from the fan city set off through Rome to explore the sights.

In the afternoon the tournament against St. Gallen started. After initial difficulties, we got into our stride better and won in the end with a well-deserved victory.
On the second day of the tournament we got better and better. Lille and Algeria were sent home with 8:1 and 7:1. So the preliminary round ended for us with three wins from three games and a goal difference of 17:3.

This was duly celebrated in the evening at the organized Toga Party.
Buoyed by the euphoria of the evening, Prishtina was nevertheless swept off the pitch 3:1 in the round of 16. Thus one stood in the quarterfinals.
Slowly, however, the loss of strength became noticeable. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals against the later tournament winner. In the end, a proud fifth place out of a field of 32 teams stood on the certificate.

Team captain Benjamin: "We would like to thank KIT for the great tracksuits and outstanding jerseys, the super organization by Alberto, Italy for the excellent food and drinks, our coaching staff and support staff, RyanAir for the relaxing flights and the whole team for the unforgettable days and nights in Rome."
