After a very dry summer and fall, a depression brought heavy rain and therefore ideal (muddy) cross-country running conditions. A total of ten athletes from the Wettkampf-Gemeinschaft Karlsruhe took part in the highly competitive races.

In the women's race over 6390m, a total of four laps of the varied course had to be completed. Sarah Hettich put in a very strong performance, finishing in ninth place overall. She was followed by Antje Alt in her first university championships with a very good 16th place and Franziska Pfeifer in 20th place overall. She was followed by Lena Zellmann, who was able to catch up with several athletes with a fast second half. Johanna Greiner, Lucie Dordet and Anne Neidhardt completed the good team performance.

There were 5 laps to complete in the men's race. The team was led by Alexander Sutschet (16th place), closely followed by Karsten Müller (17th place). The team was completed by Alexander Dyck in 35th place in his first cross-country race.

The strong performance of the women's team was reflected in the team ranking: Sarah, Antje and Lena achieved a very good third place overall. In the team ranking, the placings of the best three female athletes are added together. The men's team achieved eighth place with 68 points.
