After his successful second place at the DHM 2018 in Aachen and the bronze medal at the German Cup Championships 2018 in Kirchberg an der Murr, Arnold Resch started his preparations for the EUC with a great deal of self-confidence.

Unfortunately, a bacterial infection clouded the final phase of preparation. The ambitious athlete had to take antibiotics a whole week before the day of the competition, which left him with a physical handicap.

He started his first fight against Poland's Majowski. At the start of the fight, he was able to get a good grip, but unfortunately was unable to mount an effective attack. In an inattentive moment, the student from the University of Gdansk was able to execute a low shoulder throw with scoring / KO.

In the consolation round, Arnold unfortunately did not find his way into the fight and was again thrown on points.

The following days were used to explore the city and visit the local highlights. Although the lack of sporting success dampened our spirits for a short time, we were able to gain a lot of experience and absorb a number of cultural impressions.
