Bronze Medal for KIT Athletes

On February 3, the German University Championships in Athletics traditionally took place in Frankfurt Kalbach. Due to injuries, the Karlsruhe starting field was smaller than usual with five participants.

In the 60m sprint, unfortunately, none of the Karlsruhe athletes could reach the final run due to the very strong competition.
The long jump went all the better for it and ended with 7.32m with a 3rd place for Kevin Nwaoha. Anton Epp was able to improve by a few ranks with his last jump (7.12m) and thus reached 4th place in the final standings, while Manuel Retzbach landed in 6th place with 6.77m.
In the 200m, the long jumpers Philipp Herderich (18th) and Björn Deiss (23rd), who normally run 400m, showed strong performances.

The men's lap relay (800m-200m-200m-400m) had to change its line-up due to the shrunken number of participants and thus could not live up to its original role as favorites. In the end, they had to admit defeat to the relays from Bochum and Cologne.
