The requirements for prevention services have changed significantly as a result of social and workplace changes. In particular, flexibility in terms of time and location as well as greater individualization are key prerequisites for the successful implementation of health-promoting measures. The RV Fit-Flex pilot project is an innovative extension of the existing German Pension Insurance prevention program and addresses these challenges through a digitally supported, everyday and individually supervised prevention measure. The central goal is to sustainably increase health-promoting behavior in the areas of exercise, nutrition and stress management. Following a medical check-up, participants are accompanied through a six-month training phase by prevention coaches and use a digital platform to implement the training.
The aim of the study is to use a mixed-methods design to investigate the effectiveness and sustainability of the digital program in comparison to conventional and hybrid alternatives. The focus is on physical and mental health, work ability, motivation, physical activity and nutritional behavior. In addition, the role of digital skills in the effectiveness of the measure will be investigated.
Quantitative survey: In order to be able to evaluate the sustainability of the effects, the longitudinal study includes five measurement points (up to 12 months after the end of the prevention measure). Data is collected on health, ability to work, nutritional behavior, physical activity, motivation and digital skills. In a sub-sample, psychological behavioral determinants are also recorded in more detail using the Ecological Momentary Assessment.
Qualitative survey: In order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the platform and possible difficulties in integrating it into everyday life, the quantitative survey is supplemented by guided interviews.
